About The Project
TechBlog is a self-hosted, full-featured Content Management System (CMS) built for developers, tech writers, and content creators. It goes far beyond a simple blog — it is a complete editorial platform with a public reader experience and a powerful admin backend.
The public side includes a homepage with featured and trending posts, advanced blog listing with real-time search and debouncing, individual post pages with reading progress, table of contents, and social sharing. Posts support both HTML (via TinyMCE WYSIWYG editor) and Markdown rendering with Prism.js code syntax highlighting.
The admin panel includes a full dashboard with analytics, post management (create, edit, schedule, publish), user management, comment moderation, category and tag management, file upload management, and a contact form inbox.
The database schema is built with Prisma ORM on PostgreSQL, with separate tables for users, admins, posts, categories, tags, nested comments, and likes. The Admin model includes brute-force protection via loginAttempts and lockedUntil fields. An interactive setup wizard (npm run setup) and seed scripts make onboarding frictionless.
SEO fields (seoTitle, seoDescription, seoImage, metaKeywords) are baked into the Post model. Dark mode and system preference detection are built in. Turbopack is used for fast dev builds.
