About The Project
Music Player is a native Windows desktop application — not a web app — packaged as a real Windows installer (.exe) using Electron Builder. It demonstrates cross-platform desktop development using web technologies (React + Vite) wrapped in an Electron shell.
The UI features a professional dark purple theme with animated rotating album covers, a glass-card volume slider, play/pause/skip controls, music progress bar with timing, and a full playlist manager. Users can add local songs from their device using the "+" button.
The app launches with a custom splash screen, minimizes to the system tray (with Show/Quit menu), and handles window lifecycle events via Electron's main process (main.cjs) and preload script (preload.cjs). The frontend is built with React + Vite and styled with Tailwind CSS v3. Electron Builder produces the final .exe installer with a custom icon.
The build pipeline is: Vite (frontend build) → Electron (desktop wrapper) → Electron Builder (Windows installer). This is the second-most starred project in the portfolio with 2 stars and 1 fork — demonstrating community interest in desktop development with web tech.
